TASK 1

Here are some expressions that you should learn. Notice that as main verbs we use make more often than do:



MAKE money, war,peace, certain, sure, a journey, a trip, a complaint, an inquiry, an excuse, an offer, the bed, a choice, a mistake, a charge, a discovery, use of, fun of, room for, friends, lunch or dinner, a profit, a decision, a good/ bad impression, a promise, an appointment, a speech, arrangements, an agreement,an apology,a cake, a deal, a fortune, a fuss, a mistake,amends,an effort, a living, a mess, a noise, a phone call, plans, a suggestion, make up one's mind ( decidir-se)


DO good, harm, damage, business, work, homework, housework, one’s best, one’s duty, one’s bit, a favour, a test, an experiment, the washing-up ,something /nothing, one's shoelaces, badly/ well, research, crosswords, exercise, the ironing, science, maths...., the shopping, ,

Other Expressions
that will do: servirá.
it won't do: no sirve, no puede ser.
to do well: prosperar, ir bien.
well done: bien hecho (carne...), ¡bravo!
to do one's hair: arreglarse el pelo.
to do a good turn: hacer un favor.
to do a bad turn: hacer una faena.
to have to do with: tener que ver con.


make a living: ganarse la vida.make it: triunfar en la vida.
